Our first full day in Egypt was truly amazing. We started our morning at one of the great wonders of the world: The Great Pyramids of Giza. It’s hard to capture the scale of the pyramids in photos, but it’s true, they are very impressive. We also crawled down into the burial chamber of one of the Queen’s small Pyramids.
We then moseyed on over to something called ‘The Sphinx’. There, we learned the secret history of the Great Sphinx, but we swore we wouldn’t tell anybody. The Sphinx allowed for some more photos and fun before we set off to visit a ‘Papyrus Museum’ and a very interesting demonstration about how papyrus has been made for the last 5000 years.
For lunch, we enjoyed a nice meal overlooking the pyramids and then set of to the Egyptian Museum. Our Egyptologist, Assem, guided us through the museum. It was truly fascinating to learn about the mythology of the ancient Egyptians. Even more impressive was the detail and skill of the craftsmen thousands of years ago. The Tutankhamen exhibition was stunning. Some of the highlights were his ornately decorated, solid gold coffin and death mask. The jewelry was exquisite too.
By the end of the museum we were all quite tired, so we headed back to the hotel for a swim and a lovely buffet dinner.
Some lifetime memories were made today. It was a fantastic start to the trip.

Today, we awoke to a sparkling Lake Nasser, and proceeded to sail to the island of Abu Simbel. The view approaching the island of the renowned temple was astounding, which we enjoyed watching from the top sunny deck.
In the afternoon, we disembarked from the boat to see the island for ourselves. After a trek through the desert, we arrived at the temple. It was breathtaking. The outside of the temple was flanked with four gargantuan statues of Ramses the Second. Inside, statues and carvings completely covered all surfaces, depicting stories of ancient Egyptians, and offerings.
The Queen’s temple was smaller, but equally impressive. After exhausting over the sanctuaries, half the group tried their hand at bartering in the market, while the rest watched the light and sound show at the temple.
After all was said and done, it was great to return to our boat for a wonderful dinner.

On the last night of the Nile cruise, I asked our students to reflect on some of the things that they’ve learned on the trip. The response was quite overwhelming. Besides the knowledge gained through the various academic courses, I think it’s fair to say that the students have learned many life lessons and gained a new perspective on the world. I thought I’d try to summarize some of their more profound observations for you. The three general themes that came out of the discussions were: timelessness, contrast and growth.
Timelessness
One of the most startling aspects of rural Egyptian life is how much it hasn’t changed. On our last cruise, students witnessed scenes along the Nile that have been repeated for thousands of years. We saw fisherman fishing by hand, boys herding goats, women washing clothes, children splashing each other, people riding donkeys on dirt paths, homes being built with homemade, sun dried, clay bricks and farmers working their fields by hand.
The ancient temples and tombs offered a new understanding of time and a different perspective on history. One powerful moment was when we saw our first Nilometer. Nilometers were used to measure the water level of the Nile. The higher the water, the more taxes farmers would have to pay for the year. The Nilometer of Satet Temple was 5500 years old and had Arabic, Roman and pharaonic numerals carved into the stone. It summarized the history of Egypt, and its dependency on the Nile.
For one of the Ancient Civilization students, Egypt helped put her studies into perspective: “We (Canadians) learn about history from textbooks, when Egyptians live with theirs”. We’ve all marveled over the success of the pharaohs, who, set out to document their history in hopes of enjoying an eternal afterlife. Successful entry into the afterlife would also bring prosperity to the people in the present life. They couldn’t have been more successful as millions of tourists flock to Egypt annually - keep the images and names of the Pharaohs alive, and bringing prosperity (tourist dollars) to the Egyptian people. “So, I should start building my tomb now?” – Russell
Contrast
Another theme in the students’ observations was contrast. Most pronounced were the contrasts between First World and Third World, and between the West and an Islamic country.
Many students quickly learned that as tourists, they serve as a source of income for many in Egypt. They then had to learn to balance the hassles of this role with the power that comes with it. Students have learned when and how to be friendly, flexible and patient, and when to be firm and clear. For some students these lessons were more expensive than for others, but we all learned some valuable negotiating skills… eventually.
One perplexing contrast between Egypt and the West has been the position of women in society. To date, we have only interacted with two Egyptian women on the entire trip. Our questions about the rights of Muslim women have all been handled very cautiously. As a result, our most consistent reference has been the portrayal of women on Egyptian television. There, the contrast between Middle Eastern and Western women is striking. The Middle Eastern women seem to be valued for a unique blend of beauty, strength of character and modesty while the Western women are almost solely portrayed as aggressive, highly sexual beings (MTV). This imagery has made some of the female students very aware of the power of the media in shaping the perceptions of the world.
Growth
Many personal discoveries have been made on the trip already. Most have been practical realizations, others more spiritual.
Our hottest day in Aswan melted into a muggy night. It must have been 40 degrees centigrade at 10pm. The wind felt as if it was burning your skin - like standing by an open oven. The desert promotes a keen awareness of the senses. This may explain why so many religious figures had enlightening experiences in the desert. The desert also strips life down to the bare essentials: water, food and shelter. Even though we have been eating buffet dinners in air-conditioned hotels, we have caught glimpses of the power of the emptiness, wind, sun and heat of the desert.
It has been a fantastic experience to be a staff member on this trip. All of the teachers feel extremely fortunate to be able to work with such delightful students. They are truly exceptional individuals, but it’s been most rewarding to see how well they’ve come together as a group. It has also been rewarding to watch rapid, personal growth. Some students were quite intimidated and shy at the beginning of the trip. When one has to barter for water, one learns to become decisive and confident pretty quickly. The new-found confidence, independence and friendships have allowed for truly dynamic growth in some individuals.
Lighter Note
As might be expected, there were several, lighter observations and impressions about Egypt. The Egyptians were praised for their use of linen, and scarves. The students also applauded the sun for its cloth-drying power: “From sopping wet clothing to bone dry in 20 minutes!” We also learned that boating rules and highway ‘laws’ are essentially the same in Egypt in that the larger vehicles have the right of way. We’re still perplexed as to why cars drive with the lights turned off at night. They also seem to confuse honking with braking. To our great surprise, we also learned that Canadians are inextricably associated with Canada Dry, even though they don’t appear to sell the beverage anywhere in the country.
We are now in Hurghada, staying at an all-inclusive, luxury resort. For the final stretch of the trip we will be trying to balance the students’ desires for academic success with their quest for the perfect ‘tropical glow’ suntan. We also have the Jeep Safari, Dolphin Swimming and the Giftun Island snorkeling excursions to look forward to. Many thanks to all parents for signing up for the Jeep Safari as I expect it will serve as a bonding day for the group as a whole.
This has truly been an amazing trip so far. We’ve already seen incredible sites, and developed different perspective on culture, history, the world and ourselves. As happy as I am to report on the life lessons learned by this group so far, I’m happier to say that all the students will all leave here with new, close, quality friendships.
I would like to say that we are extremely impressed with Wedjat tours. Your company has been excellent. You communicate very quickly and clearly. Our guide, Assem, is truly excellent. He is very knowledgeable, polite, hard-working and is always planning and preparing for our group. We could not have asked for a better guide or person to work with. Mohamed is also excellent. he is also very kind, thoughtful and well-organized. As an example of his thoughtfulness and generosity, my cell phone wouldn't work in Egypt, so he lent me his old, personal phone. Now that we are back and settled in at home I can take some time to respond to you and your company regarding the trip you planned for us.
Before we arrived
As you know we were quite nervous about using a company outside our home country, especially when it came to paying over money. We did research on Wedjat on the internet and mostly all of the comments we read were positive. We also contacted a lady who had recently travelled with yourselves living in our country and she gave us some good advice too.
Our dealings with you were really pleasant and you managed our changing requests and endless questions very professionally. I am sorry that we didn’t get the chance to meet you while we were in Egypt. The itinerary you put together was as per our request and you did not try to encourage us to do things that we were not interested in and nor did you discourage us from doing things we wanted to do.
Upon arrival
When we finally retrieved our baggage (it took nearly an hour to come through at the airport), we were met by the smiling Robir! What a nice guy. He immediately made us feel welcome and walked us to the private mini-bus that took us to our hotel. He even assisted us in convincing the hotel to allow us to check-in early. Mahmood our driver was very good and made our journey comfortable. Robir was also on hand to make sure that we got onto the train and plane when we left. I am his best friend from South Africa!
Our guide
What can we say about Sharif……….what a nice guy with a wealth of knowledge about your country and Egyptology. He was very patient in answering the endless questions from all of us, including the children, answering each as fully as possible. No short answers. He also questioned us about things he had told us already, teasing us that we couldn’t remember some of the more simple things, which, when considering that he studied for 4 years to become a tour guide, was quite a challenge for us to get answers right. He truly made the tour a special experience as he treated us like friends not customers.
Our itinerary
As mentioned earlier, the itinerary was set-up exactly as we had asked for it to be. We were not hassled into going places that we did not want to go and when we asked if we could divert somewhere, both Sharif and the drivers were very accommodating. We did feel that the Alexandria trip was disappointing following the splendour of Sakkara, Giza, Aswan and Luxor and would suggest that unless people have the time in future, you encourage them not to visit Alex. The 3 hour drive each way makes it a very long day for not much reward. We felt that we could have spent more time in the Karnak Temple and definitely the Egyptian Museum but how much time is enough? Hard to know, but an hour or two would have been enough.
Other comments
1.Nile Cruise – definitely glad we upgraded to 5*. It was really clean and comfortable as compared to some of the other boats we passed
2.Overnight train – we were lucky on the way to Aswan as the train was new so there were no rattles and it was very clean. The train back from Luxor was much older and rattled and banged through the night so we barely slept. But overall it was a good experience and the kids enjoyed it tremendously.
3.Cairo accommodation – once again the upgrade to 5* was appropriate, although if we had known that the hotel was being renovated, we may have chosen one of the others you offered. The rooms were clean and spacious with a lovely view, but the hotel felt very empty due to the renovations
4.Restaurants during the day tours – Sharif took us to the Queen Cleopatra restaurant in Giza which would not have been our choice. We like trying local food and would rather choose of a menu whereas this was mostly ‘European food’ on a grand scale for tourists. Many tourists prefer to sample local food in local stores, so you should encourage your guides to check with your clients beforehand. That said, the Fish Market in Alex was brilliant!!
5.Early check-in – was problematic on both occasions when we really needed it. A nice benefit to your clients would be to arrange a day-room with the larger hotels so that tired travelers can at least rest and wash while waiting for rooms. The tour company that arranged our Red Sea trip had this arrangement in Sharm. This applied when we arrived from SA and when we returned from Luxor. That said, both times the hotel accommodated us, but not without grumbling.
6.Currency – on most occasions, shops/merchants preferred LE to USD. We brought mostly USD so it would be worth warning clients to carry enough LE while out and about.
7.Nile Tour – we had to vacate the boat by 8am on the last day while our train only left Luxor at 19h30. Sharif managed to allow us use of the boat after our day tour but if we had realized the time delays involved, I think that we would have elected to fly back to Cairo.
8.Shops – we relied heavily on Sharif to take us to shops that would not rip us off and which had the genuine articles. He took us to the following;
a.Shop in the old market in Cairo – we felt this was a friend as it was also the first shop on the block
b.Carpet factory – smaller of many that were available; didn’t feel like we were being ripped-off
c.Papyrus shop – excellent in Giza
d.Cotton shop – excellent in Giza
e.Alabaster shop in Luxor - not too sure about this as the statue we bought broke on the way home and it looks like plaster and not sandstone as we were told it was
f.Spice shop in Aswan – excellent
g.Cartouche shop in Cairo - excellent
Overall
As well travelled people who have had a range of experiences, we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to mainland Egypt as arranged by Wedjat. The personal attention made us feel very special and Sharif managed us and the children very well. He even managed to teach us some Arabic! The comments that I have made above are intended to help you make your service even better and we will definitely be recommending your company to any friends who may want to visit your fascinating country in the future. We are also happy to serve as a reference should any other South African travelers need to check up on your credentials.

We are really satisfied with the trip. The program was excellently compiled (thank to you for this!), so that we can have the experience to go along 5000 years history of Egypt in 8 days, starting from Old Kingdom, New Kingdom, Greek, Roman, Arab, Ottoman phases and Coptic Christianity until modern Egypt (High Dam).
The Nile Cruise was entertaining and we enjoyed it. So Nile Cruise is truly recommended as part of Egypt tour. 14-hours sleeping train from Aswan to Cairo is a unique enjoyable experience. No regret; it was a right decision to choose train instead of airplane.
Fortunately we put visiting Egypt Museum at the end of our program. It became the summary of our trip and put the climax at the end where we can see the golden mask of Tutankhamen and the royal Mummies!
Special Thanks are for Hares, our English Guide; He is a knowledgeable Egyptologist. Most important, he had patience traveling with our 1.5 year old boy and seems that our baby boy likes him as well. Surely we thank him also for good photo shots.
Annoying part could be the pricing. We understand that there are different prices i.e. for souvenirs and people try to get benefit in unfixed price market, but on the other hand no client wants to be trapped into unfairly price. Therefore for your improvement, your guides should be able to provide the client with sufficient information, bring to reliable souvenir shops and try protecting the client from unfairness price treatment.
There were also minor issues with transfer to train and airport pick-up at the end of the trip. If waiting time for transportation is unavoidable, your tour should be ready to provide acceptable place for waiting especially in traveling with infant.
At the time we arrived in Luxor airport by the end of our program, there were people from other travel companies waiting for their clients at baggage claim, but unfortunately no one from Wedjat representative. We had to take care of the baggage by ourselves until we met Wedjat driver outside of the airport. It was fine with us but this gave us impression of declining of services at the end of the program.
Despite of minor annoyances, we summarized your service as excellence. One of the reasons is the way you helped me getting the program; prompt in responding my emails, providing good answers, choosing excellent cruise, hotels and schedules. Again we enjoyed the trip, two thumbs-up for you and Wedjat travel!

Our experience at Cairo, Egypt
When we booked out ticket for Egypt, we were scared & little bit feared about the people & treatment at Egypt. We were travelling to a new country with no contacts other than Wedjat Tours. There were so many ifs & buts at that time. But when we reached at Cairo Airport & met with the representative of Wedjat Tour, all our fears, ifs & buts went off. The response, courtesy extended by him was really nice & tremendous. He had managed everything at Cairo, Hotel in such a way that we will not face any problem.
Next day morning, our tour guide Mr. Hassan came to pick us for the day tour of Cairo. He was well educated, cultured & behaved person. He was mixed up with us like a family member. The driver of the van was also very nice. Both driver & guide were cracking jokes while travelling from one place to another place. The tour guide was well trained in his field.
We have visited all the places in our itinerary. They way our guide had explained everything to us, it shows he has lots of knowledge & experience. We liked each & every place visited by us. Trains & cruise services provided to us was also very good standard. We enjoyed each & every moments of it. Night programs at cruise was a unique experience for us. Food provided was satisfactory. We are vegetarian, the choice of foods for the vegetarian are less. Norwegian village safari was very good. We had seen how people are keeping crocodiles in their houses. I ride the camel for the Ist time in my life.
On the final day, we visited Alexandria city. This city was beautifully developed by the government. In our opinion, this is the best city in Egypt.
We enjoyed each & every moments of this Egypt Trip. All our 8 days have gone like a day only. We are honored the hospitality & courtesy given by the Wedjat Tour’s staff. We are thankful to them from our heart.

We would just like to mention to you a few problems we encountered and we are sure once you are aware of them, you would do something to rectify this and future clients would benefit from it.
As we mentioned, all the hotels we stayed in were good (not excellent) but good enough. Our cruiseship was excellent - thank you for the upgrade, mr Eyman!
Our guide/egyptologist, Hares, gets the top score! He was excellent with the history of Egypt and also made our trip very enjoyable with his great sense of humour. He went out of his way to help us with everything and even bargained on our behalf - something we appreciated very much, since we did not know the cost of anything. God bless and a lot of happiness on your wedding in July, Hares! Thank you also to Ola who was very patient with my loads of questions! I also want to mention that the vehicles used on our tour was excellent- new and clean with very good drivers.
The few problems I want to mention:
1. We would have liked to see and do 'n bit more - the tour was sometimes very very slow to our liking. (as already mentioned at your office). The three hour wait at the station (Cairo to Aswan) was really a bit of time wasted. If we knew beforehand we would be that amount of time at the station we would have preferred to stay at the Egyptian Museum a bit longer. Don't understand me wrong - Hares did not hurry us at all at the Museum, but we were not aware that we would go to the station immediately after the visit to the museum.
2. The next very tiring and wasted day was the day in Luxor. We spent the morning on the cruiseship, because we knew it was only the two temples we would be visiting that day. We finished this visit in two hours and then we went to the airport.
We were already at the airport at 15:30. To our shock the security at the airport did not want to allow us to enter the airport until two hours before our flight leaves. So we had to sit outside at the cafeteria (that did not even have a toilet) until past 20:00, before we could enter the airport. Once inside it was still more than three hours before our flight left! Almost eight hours wasted.
To be fair to Hares, he offered, before we left for the airport, to take us to a hotel to wait until it was time to go to the airport, but the wait at the hotel would not have been any different for us from waiting at the airport and would also have cost us a lot of money. Wait is wait. To us this was really a day wasted and much more tiring than staying busy all day and almost all night! Remember, to us this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to do and see as much as possible of Egypt and wasted time is also wasted money and opportunity to us. For instance we would have loved to see more of Sharm el Sheikh and even half a day more in Sharm would be of much more benefit than sitting at the airport. Maybe in future you would work out a touring program that does not involve such waiting hours, even if you have to change the order of the places to visit? We did not have a particular order in which we wanted to see the places, as long as everything we wanted to see was still included in the tour.
Thank you for a very interesting tour of Egypt and especially the cruise was 'n lovely experience. Sharm el Sheikh was absolutely beautiful and the snorkeling there spectacular! I will surely recommend your agency to all my friends.
I did not wait to get to Argentina to write because I want to thank you and Wedjat Tours for the wonderful holiday we spent in Egypt. The tour that Wedjat has prepared for my husband and I far exceeded our expectations, as the places we visited as well as the hotels and the cruises were amazing. I wish to highlight the behavior of the people who attended us, beginning with our guide, the incomparable Mohamed, who was at our disposal at all times and taught us everything we wanted to know about Egypt and its culture, we also wish to thank a lot to Ibrahim, your representative who accompanied us until we take the plane back to Paris, also the drivers were very kind to us. My family and have lived abroad for 7 years and have traveled extensively. We all agreed that our tour to Egypt was one of our best trips ever! The success of the trip was due to the Wedjat tour group and staff. We usually travel on our own without guides but this was a pleasant change. We were so impressed with all of the staff from the airport representative that was SO helpful and smiling no matter what time of day or night we arrived. Doaa arranged our tour and answered all of my million questions in a timely and effective manner. Our tour guide Haisam was so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. My teenage boys really liked him (as did my husband and myself). He was so helpful and flexible even when our luggage was lost and our son got sick, Haisam helped us solve the problems and was very positive and flexible with our schedule. While in Cairo we got to meet the staff at Wedjat and talk with the owner. That was a really nice touch to hear his philosophy and passion for his company and made us feel valued as a customer. Of course the sights were amazing and a lifetime dream fulfilled. We were pleased with all of our hotels in Cairo, Luxor (loved the St George) and at Sharm el Sheik. We really appreciated the pace of the tour (not too jam packed or stressed) with time to relax and add/delete things at request. We learned a lot on our tour to Egypt and will remember it forever. We also enjoyed the time at Sharm el Sheik after touring Cairo and Luxor, it was a very nice way to wind down the tour with some relaxation and beach time. I highly recommend Wedjat tours for anyone that wants personallized service (so much better than a huge group tour).

We returned a few days ago from a wonderful 5 day tour of Egypt, including visits to Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated all of the arranging and hard work put in by your staff, as it was everything we hoped for.
All of the accommodations were very nice and we felt as though everything was taken care of for us, allowing us to relax and enjoy the marvelous sights and surroundings. Our guide, Sherif, was also fantastic- he was incredibly knowledgeable about every site we visited and didn't mind patiently answering all of the questions an amateur Egyptologist could come up with about the history and mythology surrounding everything. He was great fun to spend time with and we appreciated having his company throughout our trip.
We can strongly suggest Wedjat to anyone planning a trip to Egypt. Everything happened exactly as we were told, there were no surprises and we felt very well taken care of. This was one of our favorite trips ever.

First of all, we would like to thank you for a wonderful experience, at first we did not know what to expect and to begin with, we were dispersed with the picture of Assem that was provided, as we thought, he was close to 60 years old. However, when we meet him on Monday Morning, we were surprised to meet the grandson instead. He was extremely knowledgeable & funny. Funny being the most important as he made Egyptian History very interesting.
I would most certainly recommend him as an Egyptologist to friends & Family.
The Hotel in Cairo, was a nice city hotel with good breakfast buffet, the pyramisa was next best & last was Lotus. The view at lotus was very great, but the rooms require more work. The pyramisa was nice as well and Assem was very thoughtful in arranging breakfast for our trip to Abu Simbel, which wan unexpected and pleasant.
Our transportation was very smooth & all was very well managed. However, we were taken by surprised by the tipping culture, as the drivers changed frequently. We strongly recommend, including tips into the tours or mentioning the tipping culture before land.
The restaurants were satisfactory, but the best food was at Tutankhamun restaurant on the west bank in Luxor. We would recommend restaurants as this, which has a great atmosphere and excellent local food.
All in all, it was a very memorable trip and was made extremely fun by our Egyptologist Assem.

We have selected your tour company after a careful internet search: Wedjat Tours appeared to us a professional one. In general in most of our discussions in preparation of our tour organisation we did not encounter any serious problem. One exception was the tour duration, initially agreed to be a 8 days tour and later settled for a 7 days, but without a corresponding cost reduction. Certainly we have found your services very satisfactory, especially your very prompt responses to all our questions via email. Some negative points were related to the standard of the room on the Novotel in Cairo, which was supposed to be a 4 stars hotel but in our opinion rated no more than 3 stars. Also the long stop in Aswan, where the cruiser departed 24 hours later than expected, was not appreciated although it gave us time to see the local market
In conclusion, we found your team and especially our guide Sherif competent and kind and therefore your company deserves our appreciation.
We would also like to make the following suggestion. Since many tourists are interested in visiting Egypt not only for its fantastic archaeological treasures, it could be an added value for the company to provide the visitors with basic facts about the social, economic and political aspects of your country in today’s contest.

Thanks for your response but just to Clarify everything from the beginning , Your request on 13th January when you mentioned in your comments that we are interest in visiting major archeoligal sites in about 6 -7 days tour.and we already arranged for you 7 Days Tour which was included Giza Pyramids with 3 Nights Aswan/Luxor Nile Cruise then on 17th January I received your reply from as follow We areconsidering to book the Classic Egypt Tour nr. 3 with one extra day. So there was one Extra Day Tour which we included ( Alexandria Day Tour ) with the price quoted $ 1310 USD per person for 8 Days / 7 Nights (Giza Day Tour – 3 Nights Aswan/Luxor Nile Cruise – Alexandria Day Tour ) , Then as you mentioned after that you want to add an extra day as free at leisure and you have requested to revise the Price so Mr.Ayman our General Manager agreed to make this day as complimentary with $ 1310 USD NO extra charge on your original price.
At the end your final dates was changed to be from 4th March TO 11th March for 8 Days / 7 Nights you asked us again for revising our price after deduct the extra day which was as complimentary from our Wedjat Tours Company , despite that we deducted this day and your we have offered you our final price was 1275 USD per person.
Regarding to your tour it was your decision that you wanted to cancel Alexandria day tour and we have we already prepared your Van & Your Guide for the travel to Alexandria with you and paid them already based on that and we served you City Tour Day with Lunch instead, so your tour was done as we agreed.
Regarding to Novotel Hotel and for your information we have chose this hotel inside Cairo Airport because your domestic flight to Aswan was early morning and that was good for you not to wake very early and drive for one hour to get to Cairo Airport and this was a surprise we already inform you before your arrival to Egypt and you accepted your first stay will be at Novotel Hotel then your second stay will be in Sofitel Sphinx Hotel.....
Kindly we are clarifying this to you Angelo because we are very keen to have always a good relationship with our dear clients not and also for you not to misunderstand any points as you came to our office and you have met all our team work and this for sure show you how honest we are and how we are always giving our clients the best.

The tour in St Catherine was really different and difficult for me, I had to go by Camel :o)
The bad part of our trip was the fact that on our last day someone robbed our camera. For this reason, beside we have lost the camera we lost also more than 200 photos we took in Egypt. For this reason I would like to ask you if it is possible for you to send me by email the 2 or 3 pictures that Sherif took in the Pyramids, at least to have one photo.

Hello- my family and I would just like to thank you and especially Hares our tour guide for a fantastic time in Egpyt. From Cairo to Aswan, down the nile to Luxor and back to Cairo our 12 day trip was a once in a life-time adventure. Traveling with 2 small children can be a challenge but Wedjat allowed us to customize a schedule that allowed us to see all the great sites without tiring out the kids. After going over the websites of maybe a hundred Egypt tour operators, I narrowed the selection to around 10 which I found were offering what my husband and I were looking for our one week trip to Egypt. Wedjat Tours always was prompt to respond my emails and answer any questions regarding the trip and making arrangements to suit the tour to our particular needs. I was always doubtful about what they meant when offering us a “private tour”, until we got there and it was really a private tour for my husband and I, with our own driver and with our wonderful tour guide Haitham. He accompanied us through the entire week, taking also the Nile Cruise with us and was always accommodating to our needs. I have to particularly mention something that proved that Wedjat Tours really cares about their clients. I have to take a medication that comes as oral drops, and the first night after we arrived in Cairo, I found out that I had an empty container!!! All of it had spilled during the long flight from New York. I was really concerned as we were just starting our trip and I could not stop the medication abruptly. After licking the sides of the container and getting hopefully what I needed for that first night, I was really worried about how was I going to be able to get that medication in Egypt. Well, the next morning I told our guide and we stopped at several drugstores and could not find it. Finally in the evening we found it in one of the drugstores just before boarding our train to Aswan, where surely would have been even harder to find. I was so thankful!!! That could have ruined our trip!!! I have only good things to say about Wedjat Tours and recommend it as the best Tour agency in Egypt. After doing considerable research of the various tour companies operating in Egypt I decided that Wedjat Tours offered the reliability and level of service that I was seeking. The comments of previous travelers on Wedjat Tours services which I was able to review online were uniformly positive. The company offered the individual type of tour package that I was interested in, and Wedjat Tour prices were very competitive and well within the limits I had decided upon. My initial inquiry was responded to in a quick and complete manner. I was given various options and the initial tour package was quickly assembled, all question were answered in detail and in very short order my arrival date was settled. Financial arrangements were easily handled to everyones satisfaction. A Wedjat Tour representative met me upon arrival to transfer me to my selected hotel. During the ten days I spent in Egypt all the five-star accommodations were up to the standards I expected. The guide Wedjat Tour assigned to me had a degree in Egyptology. He proved to be affable, reliable and was of course highly versed in the field of Egypt antiquities. During the several days spent in the Cairo and Alexandria areas considerable travel by vehicle was necessary. The Wedjat driver was not only personable, but highly skilled at quickly, but safely, maneuvering through the tangled, often chaotic traffic of Cairo. The vehicle was always clean and well maintained. All domestic travel connections were handled seamlessly. A severe storm in the Sinai area unfortunately disrupted my planned travel across the desert to St. Catherine's and onward to Taba. Wedjat Tour acted quickly to rearrange my travel itinerary to ensure my scheduled departure for Jordan was not affected, and it was done in a cost effective manner. Shortly after my arrival in Cairo I had the opportunity to meet with the Wedjat staff at their office. It was a very pleasant encounter and I was impressed with the camaraderie of the management and staff. In sum, my experience with Wedjat Tour could not have been more pleasant. Simply put they delivered as promised. I believe most people view a trip to Egypt to be at the top of their list of places they want to visit. It certainly was in my case. Jordan Part of the Tour
The trip to Jordan went without any problems. The representative/driver met me as planned. He had a new rental vehicle in very good condition. The hotels were fine.
I thought the Imperial Palace Hotel in Amman was very nice. We visited all the sites on the itinerary pretty much on schedule. Petra was particularly worth the visit. All-in-all it was an enjoyable visit.
Hi guys, is a very nice and lovely trip in Egypt, thanks for you all to give me a wonderful memories trip.
Is a short & rushing trip, we are just spending 4 days and 3 nights in Cairo. Since we are transit to Egypt after our business trip from Sudan. There is no time for me to do much research and tailor my trip in Egypt. Luckily, I found a city tour package from Wedjat Tour which can share my worry: Transport, Food, Schedule and so and so… in Egypt. My dear lovely operator (Miss Ola) was help me tailor a perfect trip and good schedule with reasonable price.
During the trip, what I found that my Driver and Tour Guide are so lovely, friendly and helpful!!! Even the driver unable to speak English, but his smile was cheers up we all everyday ^^ The English Tour Guide they provide is professional, other than a good translator, the details of Historical, Culture, Art in Egypt he bring along to us! Other than professional works they done, both of them are helpful! Before this trip I’m worry about my dinner which is not included our quotation, so we may have to go out take our dinner for ourselves. But, evening on our way back to hotel they are trying to stop KFC / MacDonald let us take away our dinner.
Turn to Lunch they provide, is not a bad or normal restaurant! Some of the trip packages I meet before, their meals provide are very bad! Cause they are trying to budget their cost and meet up their quotation to customer. But, Wedjat Tours never do this during my trip! Very nice view restaurant, buffet style, the foods are clean and delicious.
Till the end of my trip, the car will come to pick us on 1p.m o’clock to Airport, but the Hotel check out time was 11a.m o’clock. So, I’m was trying to called Wedjat Tour ask them come early to pick us, since we can shop in Egypt Airport, the manager was very good, polite and helpful to help us arrange the car early to airport.
The last, we never regret to choose Wedjat Tours! If there will have 2nd time we go to Egypt, undoubted, we will choose Wedjat Tours again!

How are you and the other members of your office, how are they doing?
Spending twelve lovely days in Egypt, being pampered by the Wedjat Tours staff was a real pleasure. The tour proceeded very smoothly and we had no real problems whatsoever. The programme was a very extensive one and sometimes we had to suffer slightly to cover it all! What was offered to us in the programme was all catered for. Speaking from hindsight, I would have left out an excursion or two to have time for me to relax and enjoy the bustling life of Cairo and its environs. Meeting the locals, and mixing with the locals, for me, would have been an extra bonus. My wife would have enjoyed a few extra hours for shopping, because I have to say, shopping in Cairo is very enticing and a must for all western visitors.
I take the opportunity once again to thank you all at Wedjat Tours for giving us the chance to have a close glimpse of Egypt and its wonderful historical treasures. I would not mind revisting Egypt on another occasion, using one again the services of Wedjat Tours!

I,on behalf of my family,wish to thank specially Ms.Hanaa Hussein Awad,who had untiringly answered all our queries,since we were little apprehensive being absolutely new to the environment.It might have been little disturbing sometime when we were changing the program from one to another but she had handled it very professionally and patiently to meet our requirement explaining the positives & negatives of a situation. We also convey our sincere thanks to Mr.Bassem,the egyptologist,who explained the history at every site in detail as possible.Also, we thank Mr Hesham,who took care of all our requirement at Cairo and helpful in getting us in train and reaching airport.
However,since all the tours of this type always have some not-so-good moments,I wish to put those as suggestions and not as complaints for improvement in future,which also enhances the customer satisfaction,which I believe the ultimate motto/objective of WEDJAT. a)4-star category hotel - The hotel has disappointed us when we compare it with the same category hotel in INDIA. Thought he rooms were satisfactory the maintenance,service and hygiene,particularly in the restaurant was very poor.
It may please be conveyed tot he hotel authority for future. b) We found the egyptologist was very knowledgeable and explained our question to the best of his ability. However,we suggest WEDJAT advises their egyptologists to remain with the guests when they visit inside of a monument/museum.This is required because while seeing the displays inside,questions may arise in the mind of a guest which need to be explained and that is possible when the guide accompanies the guest.It may not be sufficient always to explain the history of the site from outside and then leave the guests on their own to roam around and see.This requirement may not be applicable at sites where guides are either not allowed inside or an official guide from the site is available,like in Alexandria Library. c) We are thankful to Bassem and safari driver,Khaled,who showed extra care by arranging Bahaariya Oasis resort for us to freshen up before & after safari trip. But,it would have helped us if we were told by them that this was not in the program schedule and a favour being done to us.We strongly feel that this extra arrangement should have been informed beforehand and not when they felt that we were taking easy time to fresh up,though we took 25 minutes each to fresh up,which I feel quite reasonable considering a room with one bathroom.
Lastly,we thank you all once again for arranging an overall nice, satisfying trip and guiding us in all respect. Also, I apologise that in spite of our whole hearted effort to meet you all at your office, it could not be possible for want of time. Have a nice day and GOD bless WEDJAT TOURS. 3)Also we need to clarify you that there is some sites here in Egypt not allowed for the guides to enter it like The Mummification room and the room of King Tut in The Egyptian Museum, The tombs in The Valley of Kings, and The Valley of the Queens, Alexandria Library (there is a local guide in it and it is illegal for the guide to explain in it).

Our trip was off to a terrible start- a huge snowstorm in New York delayed our flight by 12hrs.We emailed Hanaa about the change in flt time and WEDJAT rep. Hishab was at the airport to meet us .Right then I knew choosing WEDJAT was the right choice. The hotels, the cruise ship ,the van and driver were all excellent. There were no hidden costs anywhere. Our guide Hany was a delight-he did a wonderful job in showing us the various sights. Special thanks to Hany and Hishab .
First off, thank you very much for your e-mail and the fantastic tour we had while in Egypt last week! We are safely back in Hong Kong after a long journey, but all went well.
We were completely satisfied with the services of Wedjat Tours and especially from our great tour guide, Mahmoud! He really made our trip to Egypt special and totally enjoyable. Mahmoud’s knowledge and enthusiasm of his country was thoroughly satisfying and allowed us to experience daily life in Egypt from a local’s point of view. The side trips to several shopping areas, perfume, papyrus, cotton and alabaster were good fun and allowed us to bring home some special souvenirs to help us remember our trip even more. Sorry this reply has taken a few months since our visit to Egypt, but we have been busy since repatriating to the United States from a recent assignment in South Africa. Please do not interpret our delay in sending this note as anything less than a great experience using WEDJAT TOURS for our tour of Egypt during December 2009. We were a party of eight (Two Families of Four), and all had a wonderful tour of the ancient sites and have great memories of our trip that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
Maha, our travel consultant, was very prompt when replying to all of our inquiries, and when confirming all of our plans. She put together a customized itinerary based upon our preferences and made last minute itinerary adjustments to make the best use our time once our flight arrangement were made. The itinerary was well paced, and even allowed us to make adjustments along the way.
Our Egyptologist and guide, Mohamed El Talhawy, welcomed us and treated us like family, and went to great lengths to make sure we were always comfortable during the tour and selected very good restaurants. Without hesitation, he made adjustments to our itinerary along the way … we added a balloon ride over Hatshepsut Temple (a must do activity in Luxor) … a carriage ride after dinner in Luxor …. took care of our preferences for meals … shopping for linens in Luxor … even made a stop at Starbucks in Alexandria on our last day before leaving.
The wonderful sites throughout Egypt were complimented by Mohamed's personal knowledge and experience at all the sites. The courtesy and safety of the drivers allowed us to spend most of the time at sites and not spend a lot of time dealing with the Cairo traffic.
I could not imagine touring Egypt any other way, a private tour is the way to go. I would highly recommend anyone to use WEDJAT TOURS for a visit to Egypt, and would gladly offer a recommendation if anyone is considering their services.

One of the WONDERS OF THE WORLD, the PYRAMIDS no wonder going to Egypt was one of the wonders a lone touristcould wonder. From ludicrous TURKISH airlines (TURKISHAIRLINES they give you the kind of spiky hair from the start) plus the left behind checked in baggage in Istanbul airport. the decrepit black & white taxi, to Santana Hotel up to the hotel arranged car. Everything was frightening confusing in my shocked dizzy state of mind no way out of this miserable trip I got into. Whew!

When I decided to tour Egypt, I had no idea of exactly what I wanted to see. I Googled "Egypt tours" and checked out several web sites of tours offered. After a couple weeks or research, I found a tour I really liked, but I could not get the tour operator to respond to my emails (it later turned out the operator had gone out of business). I found a list of tour operators offering trips within Egypt. The list was long, about 100. I checked out every one of them. I browsed their web sites for the tours they offered and for basic information on Egypt. Easy of use and professionalism were judged. Many were eliminated because their web sites were down or links were broken, some because of a lack of updates to their sites, some due to a lack of information. I narrowed the original list of about 100 operators down to 8. The remaining 8 operators received emails asking for a tour like the itinerary I had original found. Of the 8 emails, I received 6 replies. One just replied by adding a price for the tour. it came from a hotmail address - like I'm going to send money to a hotmail address! 8 operators were trimmed to 4 based on the replies or lack of a reply.
I began to work with each of these operators to refine my tour and arrive at a final price. Wedjat was not the cheapest of the four, nor were they the most expensive. They were all within about 10%. Wedjat's emails were very specific about what sites I would see, what meals were included, what options there were, and what was not included. The decision finally came down between two operators. One had a much better web site, but the final determining factors that convinced me to travel with Wedjat were the way you are accompanied by the same tour guide throughout the entire tour, and that my research on travel website showed many complimentary comments regarding Wedjat as a Tour Company.

Hares, our tour guide is a great guy with very pleasant personality. Having much knowledge about the Egyptian history and sharing with us all those stories have made our tour even more meaningful. While I encourage everyone to seek out the tour company and deal they feel best suits their purposes, I found Wedjat to be ideal for booking a well-arranged tour of Egypt with very few surprises. From the moment I arrived for my first time in Cairo airport to re-entering Security for the trip back to the UK, it became clear pretty quickly that Wedjat is highly organised and tuned into helping foreign visitors get the most out of their trip to this fascinating country. After seeing the chaos of the Cairo Airport arrivals area, I was relieved to be able to step into a comfortable car to be taken to the hotel.
My personal guide Mohammad El Tahawy accompanied me in Cairo and Luxor and exceeded all my expectations. He was friendly and very knowledgeable, providing insights into historic and current-day Egypt throughout the entire trip. My experience with other Wedjat staff was just as pleasant and I appreciated the personal phone calls along the trip. I was amazed by their attention to every detail and the concern Wedjat showed me throughout the trip. They got me the hotel in Cairo that I wanted and chose a good hotel for me in Luxor. Not once did I have to think about arrangements for transit to the monuments, etc and entry tickets along the way as most things were included.
The Wedjat staff was also very helpful in the pre-booking stage and Tour Operator Hanaa Hussein Awad was brilliant in answering my questions and fine tuning the arrangements before and after booking. They suggested an itinerary that had a perfect mix of sightseeing and relaxation and I was still able to set the pace for each day, just what I had asked for.

We a group of 7 family members visited Egypt between 22.10.09 to 31.10.09. The tour programme was arranged by M/S Wedjat Tours. We visited Cairo, Giza pyramids, Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Hurghada during this period.
The programme was finalized after a correspondence with M/S Wedjat Tours for about 4 months, through a series of e-mails. They were very prompt in answering all our queries. Their quotation had no hidden costs.

When I began planning my trip to Egypt, I contacted several tour companies. The reason I chose Wedjat above the other companies was your effort to provide the best service possible. I booked a tour with Wedjat several months prior to my scheduled departure for Egypt. Wedjat sent me a detailed itinerary well in advance of my trip. The tour operator I worked with, Shimaa Emad, answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. I felt very comfortable trusting my trip to Wedjat.
I arrived at Cairo Airport on Saturday 17 October. As planned, a Wedjat representative, Mohammed, met me at the airport. Mohammed, accompanied me to my hotel, stopping along the way to get water for me. During the drive through Cairo, Mohammed pointed out places of interest, such as the Citadel. My tour guide, Hares, met us at the hotel. Mohammed checked me into the hotel. Hares was happy to take me out into Cairo and help me get a prepaid mobile phone for my trip. After Mohammed and Hares brought me back to the hotel, I spent the evening getting settled.
On Sunday 18 October, Hares met me at the hotel at the scheduled time. We followed the itinerary provided by Wedjat without any cancellations or changes. First we visited the Pyramids and the Sphinx, where Hares helped protect me from the camel drivers and men selling souvenirs. Then we had lunch and went on to the Egyptian Museum. Hares asked whether I wanted to buy any souvenirs in Cairo. When I told him what I was looking for, Hares took me to a reputable shop where he knew that I would not be taken advantage of as a tourist. Again, he helped me bargain and protected me from being harassed. We returned to the hotel. Hares arranged for my wake-up call and a boxed breakfast, and left me for the evening. I had dinner in the hotel and spent the evening relaxing.
On Monday 19 October, the hotel provided my wake-up call and boxed breakfast exactly as planned. Mohammed met me in the hotel at 3 AM to transfer me to Cairo Airport. He helped me check in and only left once I was settled and had gone through security. I flew to Abu Simbel, where I was met by another Wedjat representative (Wally, I think?) in the airport. The representative took me to the Temple of Ramses II and stayed with me until my guide for the morning, Heba, met us. Heba explained both temples to me in detail and allowed me time to explore by myself and take pictures. She stayed with me until the Wedjat representative returned to take me to the airport. The representative did not leave until he was certain that I was settled and ready to board my flight. I flew to Aswan, where Hares met me. We transferred to the cruise ship, and Hares took care of getting checked in. After lunch, we followed the itinerary provided to me-- the High Dam, the Temple of Philae and the Unfinished Obelisk. On our return to the cruise, Hares left me to relax, have dinner and attend the bellydancer show on the ship that night. Although he gave me freedom to realx, Hares checked on me several times to ensure that I had whatever I needed. He arranged for a wake-up call the next morning as well.
On Tuesday 20 October, I received the wake-up call as scheduled. Hares followed the itinerary exactly. We saw the Temple of Kom Ombo, where Hares gave me a full guided tour and then allowed me time to explore and take pictures on my own. We returned to the cruise for breakfast and a few hours to relax. We docked in Edfu and visited the Temple of Horus. We returned to the ship for lunch, then spent the afternoon cruising to Esna. Hares made sure to find me when we reached Esna so he could explain how the lock worked and point out sites of interest while we waited. After dinner, Hares attended the party on board and cheered loudly while I competed with other passengers in several games. Again, Hares arranged for my wake-up call and ensured that I was settled before leaving me for the night.
On Wednesday 21 October, I received the wake-up call as scheduled. Hares and I visited the sites as listed on my itinerary-- the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hapshetsut, the Valley of the Queens, and the Colossi of Memnon. Again, Hares took me to reputable stores to purchase my souvenirs and helped me bargain. We returned to the cruise for lunch and arranged to meet to explore Luxor further. Hares gave me freedom to schedule our afternoon as I wanted. After a nice walk along the Nile, we returned to the cruise for dinner and a free evening.
On Thursday 22 October, I received my wake-up call. Hares helped me check out of the cruise, and we visited the sites listed on my itinerary-- Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. He made certain that I purchased all the souvenirs I wanted. He stayed with me through my arrival at Luxor Airport, where another Wedjat representative helped me check in and go through security. I flew from Luxor to Cairo, where I met up with Mohammed again. He helped me transfer from the domestic terminal to the international terminal, then stayed with me until I got through security and departed for home.
Shimaa called Hares on the day I arrived in Egypt and the day I left to speak with me and ensure that everything was in order. The owner of Wedjat also called on my last day to ask if everything was in order.
Thank you for helping me set up the tour with Wedjat. Haisam was a great tour guide, and I had a wonderful time learning about the history of Egypt and seeing the amazing sites near Cairo! I will definitely recommend Wedjat.

From the time we landed at Cairo Airport, Sam was there to met us and help us with Visa requirements, immigration etc. Then we went to our new & comfortable hotel, in Giza - Three Pyramids. The next day we were collected by our Egyptologist Mahmoud, tour assistant Mahomid and driver Abdul and taken to the Pyramids, Sphinx, Coptic Cairo, Cairo Museum and Bazaar.
The following day we flew to Aswan (ask for the 7.30am flight, not the 5.30am flight) was met at the airport, by our Egyptologist Mahmoud, who accompanied us everywhere and was driven to our Nile Cruiser -Mojito, which was roomy and comfortable then toured to see the Aswan high dam; Philae Temple and the Stele quarry, in the afternoon we had a
Felucca ride around Elephantine Island, this was one of the most wonderful memories of our trip.
On the next day we stopped at Komombo and Edfu Temples and Cruised up the Nile River coming to Luxor (Thebes).
The next day we visited the Valley of the Kings; the Temple of Hapshetsut & Collosi of Memnon, and the wonderfully painted workers tombs at Del ABeir.
In the evening we took ourselves to the Sound & Light Show at Karnak.
The next day we toured the massive Temple complex at Karnak and then the Luxor Temple.
At all these Mahmoud gave us a wonderful history and he answered all our questions on Egyptian culture, politics and family life.
We fly back to Cairo at 4pm and spent the last night in our comfortable hotel.
The next day we were driven to the airport for our flights home.

My wife and I arrived at Cairo International Airport in the late afternoon after a long overnight flight that had been delayed in New York City for over 2 hours. Tired, we were met by a representative from Wedjat Tours who helped us through the entry process and helped us get our bags. We were then picked up at the curb by the waiting van and driven to our hotel in Giza for the night where the helpful representative from Wedjat helped us check in and get our bags up to our room. This was our first taste of “exciting” Cairo traffic that is certainly quite different from driving back in America.
After enjoying our breakfast the next morning, we were greeted in the lobby by Maha from Wedjat and our guide Khedr for our first day of vacation. Our van was waiting to take us to our first destination – the pyramids at Saqqara. Ancient Egyptian history has fascinated me since I was a kid so seeing my first pyramid in person is something I will never forget. We quickly learned how knowledgeable our guide Khedr is. His knowledge of Egyptian history goes far beyond anything I had read in books in America and he brought great insight into all of the destinations we visited. I never expected to have a PhD student in Egyptian history as our personal guide for the trip.
After visiting Saqqara and quick visit to a local carpet school, we made our way back through the “exciting” streets of Cairo to eat lunch and then on to the Great Pyramids at Giza. Even though I had seen hundreds of pictures of the Pyramids in books and on TV, I was still amazed by their size and grandeur. After having to chance to tour the site (and even go for a camel ride), we took a quick visit an essence and papyrus shop to learn how the distinctly Egyptian goods are made. That night we walked down the street from our hotel to a local restaurant our guide had recommended. Even at night by ourselves, we felt perfectly safe walking in Giza and very much enjoyed the Egyptian food. We found the people of Egypt to very friendly and helpful and made our visit to Egypt a pleasure.
The next morning we were again greeted by Khedr for our day of sightseeing. In the morning, we went to visit Coptic Cairo and Islamic Cairo. The amount of history in Egypt is very impressive. Famous for its Ancient Egyptian wonders, Egypt also has Greek, Roman, early Christian, and Muslim historical sites. Again, Khedr’s knowledge of early Christian and Muslim history was extensive.
In the afternoon, we went to visit the Egyptian Museum with its world famous collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts including artifacts recovered from the tomb of Tutankhamen. Khedr gave us a tour around the bottom floor showing us some of the more significant and impressive artifacts and explaining Egyptian history through the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms. We even decided to pay the extra fee to see the preserved mummies in the climate controlled rooms on the upper floor of the museum.
That night we made our way to Aswan on a 12-hour sleeper train ride. After having breakfast on the train, we arrived in Aswan where Khedr was waiting for us having taken an earlier train. That day we went to visit the Aswan High Dam. After visiting the dam, we took the short boat ride to visit the Temple at Philae, a Greek-Egyptian temple dating to the time of Greek rule in Egypt. We then were transferred to the Nile River boat where we would be spending the next few days. That evening we took a felluca (small single sail boat) across the Nile to a Kitchener Island Botanical Gardens where my wife got her fill of flowers – a very beautiful and unique location.
We spent our first night on the boat while traveling to Kom Ombo overnight (the second of three Greek-Egyptian temples we would visit along the Nile on our way to Luxor). We then continued north along the Nile to Edfu Temple in the afternoon. The river cruise was also an excellent opportunity to experience the beauty of the Nile and get a glimpse of life in rural Egypt.
After our second night aboard the cruise, we awoke in Luxor. We went early in the morning to visit the Valley of Kings. Definitely a dream come true for me to see the legendary canyon in person and be able to enter three tombs. Although the tombs themselves get pretty hot, it was well worth it. After the Valley of the Kings, we drove a short distance back to see the Temple of Hatshepsut which is carved out of solid rock. Khedr gave us a great tour and told us all about Queen Hatshepsut’s unique life and her impact on Ancient Egyptian history.
After an afternoon break, we took a short walk in Luxor from the boat to Luxor Temple in the evening. Following our third and final night on the boat, we visited the famous Karnak temple the next morning. What a history in that site alone which Khedr was able to educate us about.
That afternoon, we got back aboard the van and made the drive to Hurghada on the beautiful Red Sea coast where we had made arrangements with Wedjat to spend four days scuba diving in the Red Sea. The Red Sea is certainly a hidden treasure to most Americans. It has beautifully clear turquoise water and world class coral reefs for diving. We had a great time diving with the great people of Lighthouse Dive Center.
After spending four days and five nights in Hurghada, we made our drive back in our own personal van to the same hotel in Giza where we started our trip and made a second visit to our new Egyptian restaurant down the street. We spent our last day in Egypt going to Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea coast. Khedr joined us again to take us to visit to the Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, and the famous Library. Alexandria is a great example of the immense amount history there is in Egypt with its Greek heritage Roman influences.
We made the quick trip back from Alexandria for a short rest and refresher in our hotel in Giza and on to the airport to fly back to America. It was really a fantastic and action-packed trip to make me happy with just enough relaxation for my wife. We would certainly recommend a trip to Egypt for anyone interested and Wedjat Tours is the way to experience Egypt.
Maha Fawzy was wonderful coordinating the Tour. She was speedy in her e-mail correspondence. She was a delight in person as we spent a day together. There were several phone calls making sure we were happy.
Our Tour guide Ahmed Abbas Hassan was exceptional. He was our private escort for the entire tour. He was knowledgeable in every aspect of our questions. He made the vacation the success it was.

After much research, I had narrowed down a few companies to assist us with our trip. Wedjat Tours' reputation, flexibility and fair pricing helped me to decide on enlisting their services. I'd really like to thank Wedjat Tours but, especially Maha Fawzy for her dedication, patience and diligence in arranging a wonderful tour for our often complicated 9 person group!
As a group of 9 young adults, arranging a spring tour to Egypt initially seemed like a daunting task, but the process was relatively smooth and easy once I got in contact with Wedjat Tours. Wedjat Tours remained flexible and allowed us to customize our tour as we needed and wanted.
Emails were responded to promptly, and Maha demonstrated knowledge of her industry on many occasions when answering my questions and making recommendations. I would imagine that our constant changes would have been frustrating for her, but she never showed any signs of frustration and always remained very professional in her communications with me.
Trip planning began many months prior to our departure, but we experienced many changes with people not being able to come, and flights being cancelled and rescheduled, and people having to depart on different dates. Most of these unexpected changes occurred in the last month prior to our departure, but Maha and Wedjat Tours remained considerate and accommodating of the countless changes our itinerary required.
Overall, our 10 day tour through Upper and Lower Egypt was amazing and the trip exceeded our expectations. All the small details were taken care of from the moment we landed. We had private transportation, nice accommodations, admissions to sites, a well-paced itinerary consisting of a variety of sites, and the majority of our food all pre-arranged, all exactly as we were informed. Maha matched our group with a fun, knowledgeable, fantastic guide and Egyptologist, Mahmoud Ramadan. We were relieved to have developed a true, natural rapport with him.
Mahmoud seemed more like a friend to us, and we enjoyed spending time with him outside of the official, listed itinerary activities and many of us have kept in touch with him since leaving Egypt.
I would not have any reservations about using the services of Wedjat Tours in the future and would be happy to have Mahmoud guide me through another tour. The only thing we wish were different, was that we had a longer vacation!

We had been interacting with Maha Fawzy, one of their tour operators who worked with us finalizing our itinerary over emails. She was very prompt in answering our emails. It was a great pleasure meeting Maha and Hamad. WEDJAT Tours are very professional and organized.
They took care of our stay and travel for us right from the time we arrived in Cairo till we departed. Their representative helped us through the passport control and took us comfortably to the hotel. All the travel and transport arrangements were absolutely perfect. We were never kept waiting for the drivers at any place. They would be at the destination well before time.
We covered Cairo, Abu Simbel, Aswan, Luxor and Alexandria in a 7 days tour and it would not have been possible if they had not planned it so well. We had our 4 year old child along and we were nervous as to how would she co-operate throughout the tour. But she was excellent and only on some occassions did she feel too tired to walk. Our guide got her a nice colouring set to help her keep entertained.
The guides were all experienced, knowledgeable and professional. All the transport provided was excellent.
We are pleased to have chosen them for our first ever Egypt Trip and would definitely have them for any future one. We do recommend them to others considering a trip to Egypt.

Thank you for an outstanding trip! When I first began thinking about an Egypt vacation, I didn't know where to start. I ended up finding a website about Egypt Tourism and I entered all of my information. I must have had about 40 replies from different tour companies, but Wedjat's reply stood out among all of them. The first thing that caught my attention was the price of the trip for a family of four, it was very affordable. The second thing that caught my attention was that compared to other tour companies, Wedjat's itinerary had everything that I wanted to do. What made me book my family trip with Wedjat was the personal attention that I received from our tour operator, Hanaa.
When we arrived in Egypt we were met by a Wedjat representative who helped us through customs. We then met our driver and another Wedjat representative who helped with our transfers to and from the airport. When we got to the hotel our tour guide, Hamdan, was waiting to meet us. We visited in the lobby and talked about our itinerary, safety for the children, and the hotel. If was a great start to our first day in Egypt.
For the next three days we had an amazing tour. Our guide, Hamdan, was outstanding and the sights were amazing. Not only did Hamdan explain Egypt's history with great enthusiasm, but he personalized every aspect of our tour. He also made sure that our children, ages 10 and 5, were included in the short history lessons. He knew where to take us for lunch, which was amazing. We really felt like our time in Cairo and Alexandria was unforgettable.
My husband and I were blown away by that fact that absolutely everything was taken care of. We had such an amazing trip that we will recommend Wedjat Tours for anyone visiting Egypt!

I would like to say a big thank you for all the help and assistance you provided and it was especially nice to actually meet you. The welcome at the airport - with visa's all ready purchased for us and assistance through immigration and collecting our luggage to ensuring we were onboard the minibus promptly, was very gratefully received. We were delivered to our hotel in comfort with a very professional driver.
The tours were fantastic but we especially liked Fayoum with the horse and carriage ride into the farming areas, our photo's our fantastic and very natural. I have added a couple of photo's of us standing by the Pyramids at Giza .
We thought that the tours and collection from the airport were fantastic value for money and at no time were we kept waiting for the driver to arrive - our guide was always early as well. Egypt - Land of the Pharaohs ….. everything was far beyond our wildest expectations!!!!
The tour was so much more than we could have ever expected but the final touch was made by the excellent people from Wedjat Tours who made us feel very special and very welcomed.
The sights we saw were amazing and words cannot explain the awe we felt as we stepped in places that were walked upon by the Pharaohs so long ago. Abu Simbel is one of our favorite sites and is highly recommended to visit although it is located further in the south.
Our tour guides were excellent. We had Khedr for Cairo tours and Ahmed for Nile Cruise tours. While they were making sure our adventure was a learning experience, they also managed to connect their personal and family life to many of the amazing sights we saw. They were always willing to answer our questions, knew when it was important to spend extra time, and kept us aware of local customs and traditions.
The Nile Cruise was also a unique experience since we had never been on a cruise before. The crew was so nice and friendly that the whole trip can be described as a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. The food on Movenpick cruise is great.
The entire tour - from the airport pickup, the choice of hotels, the means of transportation, the tour sites - was first class.
Last day we were met by the Wedjat Tours representatives (agency people who put together this amazing tour) which gave an extra touch to all this wonderful adventure.

My 9 year old daughter and I had a wonderful trip to Mt. Sinai and Cairo, thanks to Wedjat Tours.
Coming from Jordan, we were met at the Taba marine port by our guide, Khedr, who was a welcome sight after a long journey through Jordan.
Our first stop was Mt. Sinai, and immediately we knew we were in good hands, as Khedr made sure that we had very good camels and the best guide for the early morning climb, which was spectacular. Having hired local guides in Jordan and elsewhere, we knew how much a good, trustworthy site guide could be; it was nice to know that Wedjat and Khedr knew that as well and didn't try to save money by hiring someone cheaply.
The balance of our trip was in and around Cairo and again, we couldn't have been happier. Our hotel, the Conrad, was wonderful, and Khedr and our driver made traveling through and around the bustling streets a pleasurable experience. Khedr did a great job of showing us the sites and, more importantly, sharing with us the history and traditions of Egyptian culture and religion. FInally, Khedr was very helpful in making arrangements for things that we hadn't initially planned on doing, such as taking a sunset felucca ride.
I want to especially note that although our driver did not speak English, he was very friendly and helpful, and every morning the van was freshly cleaned and waiting for us.
I would definitely recommend Wedjat Tours to anyone considering a visit to Egypt.

I can most heartily endorse Wedjat Tours and its guides for anyone travelling to Egypt. From the first email I sent to Wedgat to request information about an Egyptian excursion for 5 adults to the moment we boarded our plane in Cairo for our homeward journey, there was never a moment of concern, never a promise undelivered, never a regret that we had hired Wedjat. Wedjat Tours does not disappoint.
From the beginning, Mr. Ayman, Wedjat's owner, took special pains to assure that our stay in Egypt would be worry free. He delivered without a hitch. Ayman is a wonderful guide, a studied Etyptologist, and a superb story-teller. He knows his country's past and present, and he has ideas about its future. His staff is trained to anticipate tourist needs and assuage the fears of neophytes in his country.
From the miniute we were met at the Cairo airport by a young man dressed in a suit and carrying a large laminated sign on which was printed our famly name in ALL CAPS, we knew we were in competent hands and that a group of English-speakers without no ability to negotiate Egyptian Arabic signage would not be left to fend for itself. If fact, we and our luggage were never left alone. Throughout the trip, we were conveyed in large air-conditioned vans to excellent hotels and eateries. Entrance fees were alwyas paid, tickets provided, explanations given. When we looked a bit weary and travel worn, snacks and drinks magically appeared.
As a result, we could relax and enjoy. And enjoy, we did. Egypt is a wonderful country; its inhabitants friendly. Mr. Ayman's itinerary for us was crammed with all that first-timers could want to see.
The overnight sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor was great fun, and the excursion to the Valley of the Kings, and the valley of the workers was unforgettable.

I would like to pass on how grateful we were to find Ali waiting at the airport for us on our departure. Ali took us to the correct terminal but Kori was insistent that he was wrong and was very vocal about it. After we found someone at the terminal who explained to Kori that we were in the right area and that she did have our tickets and that she was in the wrong, she finally calmed down but omitted to apologize to Ali for making such a fuss. We were met at our ship by a guide and a driver with a sign bearing our name. The van was brand new, air conditioned and quite comfortable. Our guide and driver could not have been nicer! Our guide was not only knowledgeable but very personable and engaging. We enjoyed being with both him and the driver very much. I have a special interest in art so I asked the guide if he could take us to see some art galleries or workshops. He changed his itenerary to include a pottery workshop, a papyrus factory and a glass and perfumery factory. He even made sure that we did not feel pressured to buy anything.
In addition to the art stops, we saw the pyramids, the sphinx, the Cairo Museum and took a camel ride. Because we are vegetarians, our guide made a special effort to find us a place for lunch that would accommodate our needs.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Wedja Tours - from the very first email contact through the end of our tour. I would highly recommend this agency and would use them again without hesitation.

My name is Aegina Angeliades. I am a 35 year old Greek American single woman who loves to travel.
I often visit Greece , where I still have family, in the summers. As I planned the trip for summer 2007, I wanted to add an additional stop on my itinerary. Since I would be traveling during my 35th birthday, I wanted to go somewhere special. I chose Egypt.
I didn_t know the first thing about Egypt so I visited a tourism site and got a lengthy list of travel tours. I communicated with many of them but ultimately chose WEDJAT TOURS.
I chose WEDJAT because they corresponded with me in a professional and helpful manner. I was e-mailing back and forth for 3 months prior to my trip and was given great information about Egypt and the sites and then customized a trip with them. I was guaranteed a price and itinerary. I was given telephone numbers and was even contacted by a WEDJAT representative on the phone while I was still in the States.
I chose a 6 day/5-night personalized tour. I was taking my younger sister and was a little uneasy about visiting a middle eastern country but I really wanted to see the pyramids!
Upon my arrival at the Cairo airport, I was greeted by a WEDJAT tour rep. They got me my entry visa and escorted me to my hotel. For the remainder of my days in Egypt, I was picked up from my hotel by a driver AND guide and taken to the various places I chose. I was then always left back at my hotel.
Being an American, I grew up with a lot of misconceptions and fears around Muslim nations and the Middle East. The primary language in Egypt is Arabic and the religion is mostly Muslim and these are things I am not familiar with at all. I also knew little of the political status of the country, the currency and the traditions. All of these things did not matter because I was completely cared for and by the WEDJAT tour guides. I felt completely safe, protected and comfortable during my stay in Egypt.
I was also put up in the best hotels, toured around in a private air conditioned van, given great historic information, told about the culture and society and overall well cared for. My guide even got me a birthday cake and took me on a Nile River Cruise for my birthday! I met my driver_s family and his wife made me coffee!!
Besides being a great learning experience and quite cultural, I had a blast. My sister and I had such fun with our guide and driver. We laughed and told stories. We really bonded as friends.
I highly recommend a visit to Egypt . There is so much to see in this mysterious country. Cairo, the Giza pyramids-camel rides, Luxor, cruises, the Nile River, the cuisine, the culture, the temples and tombs, the museums and monuments.the list goes on and on! I would never have gone, nor felt comfortable trying to manage the sites and the country alone, however. I highly suggest getting a tour and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using WEDJAT! I plan to return and do a cruise with the rest of my family and would ONLY USE WEDJAT!!
